Procrastinators (or, really, anyone trying to use the FCC’s CDBS system) beware — you have five fewer hours to file your biennial ownership reports!
In a Public Notice, the FCC announced that a scheduled power outage at Commission headquarters will result in the unavailability of the FCC’s CDBS system after 7:00 p.m. on December 20, 2013 — the date that biennial ownership reports are due. According to the Public Notice, “Filers must complete electronic filing of their 2013 biennial Ownership Report for Commercial Broadcast Stations prior to that time to comply with the filing due date.”
As we reported in a prior post, the Commission previously extended the filing deadline from December 2, 2013 until December 20, 2013 to account for the time that CDBS was unavailable due to the government shut down.
CDBS can become particularly slow during the days before the Form 323 filing deadline, so we encourage all broadcasters to plan to file well in advance of the new deadline.
